1   Identification of plate designation and mark

1.1 Commone cold rolled sheet
Cold rolled sheet is abbreviation of common carbon structural steel cold rolled plate, proverbed as cold plate. It is a steel plate with thickness less than 4mm after further cold rolling based on common carbon structural hot rolled strip. Since the plate is rolled at normal temperature, no oxide ferric skin is generated during rolling, therefore, the plate provides good finishing quality, high accurate dimension, meanwhile, it is annealed, therefore, it has higher mechanical and process performance than hot rolled sheet. The product has gradually replace the hot rolled sheet in many fields, in particular to domestic appliance manufacture.

Symbole: Q-code for yield point (limit) of general carbon structural steel, it is initial of Chinese Bopomofo for the Chinese character ¡°Çü¡± ; 195, 215, 235, 255 and 275 refers to yield points (limit); unit: MPa £¨N/mm2£©; since Q235 steel has highest mechanical performance in strength, plasticity, flexibility and weldability among general carbon structural steel, the product may properly meet requirement for general application, therefore, the product has wide application scope.

1.2? High quality cold rolled sheet
As same to the cold rolled general sheet, the high quality cold rolled carbon structural steel sheet has widest application among cold plate. The high quality cold rolled sheet has thickness less than 4mm after cold rolling based on high quality carbon structural steel.
Suitable designation: 08¡¢08F¡¢10¡¢10F
Symbole: 08 and 10 refers to carbon content of the steel, the average carbon content is 100; F-non-deoxidized rimming steel; b-semi-killed steel, z-general deoxidized killed steel (sometimes no letter is available).
For example: 80F refers to non-deoxidized rimming steel with average carbon content of 0.08%; since 08F steel plate has good plasticity and drawing performances, most of them are used for manufacture of sizing sheet products with drawing structure.
Drawing grade: Z-deepest drawing, S-deep drawing, P-normal drawing
Finishing quality: I-superior finishing, II-high quality finishing, III-general finishing

1.3 Cold rolled sheet for elongation
Most cold rolled sheet for elongation are aluminum deoxidized killed steel, the steel are high quality carbon structural steel. Since its good plasticity with excellent deep drawing performance, the product is widely used in manufacture of deep drawing products with complex structure.
Suitable designation: 08A1
Symbol: 08-these two Arabic numerals refers to carbon content in the steel, the average carbon content is 100; A1-aluminum deoxidized killed steel.
Finishing quality: I-extra superior finishing, II-superior finishing, III-high quality finishing
Drawing class: ZF-drawing most complex piece, HF-drawing much complex piece, F-drawing complex piece.

1.4  Japan cold rolled carbone sheet
Suitable designation£ºSPCC¡¢SPCD¡¢SPCE
Symbole: S-steel, P-plate, C-cold, C in forth numeric position-common, D-draw, E-elongation.
Thermal treatment conditon: A-annealing, S-annealing and skin pass, 8-(1/8) hard, 4-(1/4) hard, 2-(1/2)hard, 1-hard.
Drawing class: ZF-drawing most complex piece, HF-drawing much complex piece, F-drawing complex piece.
Finishing: D-dotted (sand blasting on roller after grinding), B-bright surface (roller is finished on grinding machine).
Finishing quality: FC-superior finishing, FB-high quality finishing. Condition, finishing condition, finishing quality code, drawing class (only for SPCE), specification and size, appearance accuracy (thickness and/or width, length and roughness).
Example of mark: steel plate, standard code Q/BQB402, designation-SPCC, thermal treatment-annealing plus skin pass (S), finishing condition-dotted (D),edge cutting with finishing quality FB (edge cutting-EC, non-edge cutting-mill edge-EM), thickness 0.5mm, accuracy-B, width-1000mm, accuracy-A, length-2000mm, accuracy-A, roughness accuracy PF.A. Symbole: ST-steel, 12-general cold rolled sheet, 13-drawing cold rolled sheet, 14-elongation cold rolled steel, 15-extra elongation cold rolled sheet, 14-T-superior cold rolled sheet.
Finishing quality: FC-superior finishing, FB-high quality finishing.
Surface structure: b-bright, g-glossy m-matte r-rough.

Mark: Product name (steel plate or strip), product standard code, finishing quality code, drawing class (only for St14¡¢St14-T¡¢St15), surface structure, edge condition (edge cutting-EC, non-edge cutting-mill edge-EM), product specification and size, appearance accuracy (thickness and/or width, length and roughness).

2  Time-effectiveness of cold rolled sheet

2.1 Time-effectiveness£ºSPCC, SPCD, and 08F sheet can be stored for 8 days after skin pass; SPCE and 08A1 sheet can be stored for 6 months after skin pass without drawing slip line, i.e. convex line.
2.2 Principle of aging£ºThere is obvious yield platform on drawing curve of annealed or low carbon steel, this may cause slip line affecting appearance during drawing formation. When the deformation exceeds the yield platform, the slip line disappears and the sheet surface turns to be a little rough. Therefore, the low carbon steel plate for drawing requires quench rolling after cold rolling and annealing to allow deformation exceeding the yield platform to avoid slip line during drawing.
2.3 Elimination of aging£ºprior to drawing, the so-called strain aging may occur on the rimming sheet containing dissolved nitrogen in a period after quench rolling, this may cause re-occurrence of the yield platform and results in slip line.
As for drawing mill or shop, on the press flattening machine for skin passing or equipped with roller unevenly arranged, the plate will be gently and repeatedly bended in two directions to form a gentle cold deformation (3%), this may eliminate aging. However, the effectiveness is temporary and only for a few days, afterwards, the mechanical performance may be significantly changed. Therefore, the plate skin pass shall be performed prior to drawing.
Aluminum killed steel, such as 008A1 is non-aging steel, which has smooth drawing curve after proper quench rolling, and yield platform is not permitted, however, bending which is not obvious is allowed, the mechanical performance of the product will not change with aging, therefore, no slip line will occur during drawing.
